GIS WORKSHOP

Description:

GIS Workshop with Samuel Russell
::::::
June 6, 2017 - 6:30-8 pm.
Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law
Room 303.
::::::
"Join Samuel Russell, recent graduate of Catholic University's Library and Information Science program, as he demonstrates GIS platforms for geographic-oriented data and data visualization. He will explore ArcGIS and Storymaps. These are technologies that use various sources of data in order to produce maps that represent said data in some way related to geography and location. ArcGIS and its StoryMaps are cloud-based tools - accessible through the browser. Samuel will walk us through some steps, maybe show off some of his own work, learn how to take knowledge in our libraries to create fun content to share with our users through the aid of Storymaps, and generally to encourage us, as librarians and information professionals, to embrace the art of life-long learning as it relates to GIS."
::::::
This event is being hosted by the LIS Students at Catholic University's Library & Information Science program.
As a result, it is free. We do, however, encourage non-students who wish to attend to make a small donation ($6) to DC/SLA through this registration portal.
::::::
Thank you.
