Description:
Join the Military Libraries Group of DC/SLA for this informative program with speaker, Dr. Paulette Hasier, Research Services Manager, DARPA, that will help you be more informed as you address the value of new technologies. It’s also a great opportunity to do some networking while enjoying light refreshments.
Program Description: With the vast array of technologies now available, libraries are challenged to understand content delivery in the context of their user’s experience. By assessing how customers use information we truly understand the value of new technology. Listen to a current practitioner discuss key aspects to be considered when looking to implement a new technology or resource.
Here are some the topics that will be discussed:
- What users Ask for and What they Really Want
- Web Discovery Tools-Fact or Fallacy
- Creating a Low cost Social Media Tool inside the Firewall
- E-books, Apps, and the Challenges of Going Mobile
